How to Pack Golf for Shipping ?
- The best way to protect your golf clubs during shipping is to use a freight-approved hard travel case. These cases are designed to withstand rough handling and ensure your clubs arrive without damage. If you don’t have a hard case, you can use a sturdy, double-walled cardboard box.Fill any empty spaces with packing paper , bubble wrap , foam or towels to prevent movement.
Soft Bag/Box: For soft golf travel bags, place the bag inside a sturdy golf club shipping box. Again, add padding (bubble wrap, packing paper, or towels) to prevent movement. - Take extra precautions by wrapping fragile areas like the heads of drivers and woods with bubble wrap, towels, or padding material. The shafts can also be protected with bubble wrap or additional padding secured with tape to prevent movement during transit. A smaller golf bag with fewer external pockets will reduce bulk and help your clubs fit into standard shipping boxes, making it easier to ship without extra costs.
Book Your Shipment in Advance to Avoid Delays
- Shipping your golf clubs early is essential to ensure they arrive on time, especially if you’re sending them to remote locations. We recommend scheduling delivery three to five days before your arrival. This buffer will help prevent any disruptions, even if unexpected delays occur.
You can select from standard or express shipping options based on how soon you need your clubs to arrive. Express delivery is ideal if you’re short on time, but standard shipping offers a more cost-effective option if you plan ahead.
Secure Your Package and Print Labels
- Once your clubs are packed, you’ll receive shipping labels from GetMyParcel. Print these out and attach them securely to the front of your package.
- Use high-quality tape to reinforce all edges and seams of the box, ensuring it stays intact throughout its journey. If you’re shipping internationally, include any customs documentation required for your destination to avoid delays at customs clearance.
- Make sure the paperwork doesn’t come out during the transit.
Prepare for Pickup and Track Your Shipment
- When the day of pickup arrives, make sure someone is available to hand over the package to the collection agent. If no one is available at your location, coordinate with GetMyParcel to reschedule or provide access instructions.
- You can track your golf clubs in real-time through GetMyParcel’s tracking page, giving you peace of mind by knowing exactly where your shipment is at all times. Many customers choose to send their clubs directly to a hotel, resort, or pro shop, as these places are often happy to receive and store shipments for guests. This allows you to travel without the stress of carrying your golf clubs through airports, buses, or taxis.
How to measure the Golf
What is volumetric weight?
Our pricing policy is based on the package’s actual or volumetric weight, whichever is greater. For instance, if you are shipping a box with dimensions of 50cm x 50cm x 50cm, its maximum volume would be calculated as length x breadth x weight/5000, which in this case would be 25kg. Therefore, even if the actual weight of the box is less than 25kg, you will be charged for 25kg. In another scenario, if your box has a volumetric weight of 25kg but contains an item weighing 30kg, you will be charged for the actual weight of 5kg instead of the volumetric weight of 25kg.
